Babayyy, Babayyy, Babayyy, B-B-B-Babay…
Here’s a smooth yet energetic new track from BPhree. The song uses a sample from the Mary J Blige classic, Real Love, which was released in 1992. That’s right, the original was released 21 years ago and yes, you are old.
Anyways, I heard this song for the first time last night and I haven’t stopped listening to it. The guy really knows how to cut up an old song and give it new energy. Who would’ve thought the piano from some pop song has an amazing house vibe? All the sudden I wanna go to Jamaica!
Call him what you wanna call him – Avicii, Tim Berg, or Tom Hangs. This dude has an issue sticking to one name. (See Nicktim, I Could Be the One, and Fuck School) Anyways… Not much to say here. This song rocked when it came out four years ago and is still great today. I would assume Avicii’s most recent album “True” isn’t quite as simple as this track, but who knows. I haven’t listened to it.
Should have made sure this was on SoundCloud…YouTube
At the very least the download is available.
You may know Pirupa from his guest appearance on Carl Cox Global but more realistically, you’ve never heard of him. This Italian DJ has recently had some success remixing Pitto, NiCe7, Riva Starr, Jamiroquai, and of course Tube & Berger but this is the first time I have heard an original of Pirupa remixed (and actually enjoyed it). As for Leon, I have no idea. If you are Leon’s manager and would like that to change, contact me. EDIT: Found you, Leon of Italy, and I must say, I like the song Que Pop. Hold Up!
Anywho, here’s Everylife (Tube & Berger Remix)
Don’t know who Tube & Berger are? Well here you go! Tube & Berger – Imprint Of Pleasure
…and one more. Tube & Berger – Surfin (Nice7 Remix)
N’to and Worakls have had some success remixing eachother’s work, but IMO, none like this. Even at 10 minutes long, this track keeps you wanting more. Worakls shows a lot of promise. Read his bio here.
Solomun has been a consistent force on Diynamic Records for a few years but it wasn’t until 2012 that he established himself as one of the top deep house DJs. In just one year he took home the coveted Producer of the Year at the the Ibiza DJ Awards, became a resident DJ at Sankey’s, Ibiza, and released some amazing tracks such as Kackvogel and his deep house remix of Flash of Light. His most popular track to date is still one of his best. Here is Bootcamp by Solomun.
This track came out Jan. 21, 2013 and is still in the top five on Beatport’s Deep House Chart. Sampling from the 1999 hit track Still D.R.E., this song falls in line with all other Claptone tracks fusing memorable hip-hop melodies with deep rhythmic drums.
